Our Culture

Our culture is to walk in the fullness of life (John 10:10) made available through a relationship with Jesus (Rom 5:1). This fullness of life is shown through being (intentionally)...

Christ Centred – this is of first importance (1 Cor 15:3-4; Phil 1:21); Jesus’ life, death and resurrection has saved us and compels us to:

• Love and accept people as Christ has loved and accepted us (Rom 5:8; Rom 15:7)

• Humbly remember we are all equal under Christ no matter what background we have or what stage of life we find ourselves in. (Phil 2:1-11; Gal 3:28)

• Value the Bible as the primary authority for our life and faith (2 Tim 3:16-17; Psa 119; Heb 4:12; 1 Pet 1:21-25). We will encourage one another to be in Gods word daily.

• Be dependant on Jesus to continue to change us as we keep our eyes fixed on him. (John 15:5; Rom 8:29; Heb 12:1-2)

Spirit Led (Rom 8:14; John 16:13; Isa 30:21) – we can do nothing on our own, we are dependant upon the Spirit’s leading and power. Therefore we will strive to...

• Pray and seek the Lord (Matt 6:5-13; Col 4:2; 1 Thess 5:17; 1 Chron 16:11)

• Be Flexible (Acts 16:6-7)

• Be Intentional

• Be Gifts based (Eph 4; Rom 12:3-8; 1 Cor 12 4-31) – driven by love (1 Cor 12:31-13:13) fulfilling what God has called us to do (2 Tim 4:5).

• Be Believing for more than we could dare to ask or imagine (Eph 3:20; John 14:12-14)

Community Based – we are saved not to live individually but to be a part of a community of faith (1 Pet 2:9-10; Acts 2:42). Therefore we will endeavour to...

• Be hospitable with each other and with our community (Rom 12:13; 1 Tim 3:2; 1 Pet 4:9)

• Be honest and transparent walking in integrity with each other (James 5:16; Prov 12:19)

• Enjoy life together, building friendships over good food, drink and laughter to the glory of God (Acts 2:42-47; 1 Cor 10:31)

• Get in the gutter with people and be a presence of hope in dark moments (Rom 12:15; Gal 6:2) Outward Focused – Jesus has saved us to be his ambassadors (2 Cor 5:19-20), to be used to reconcile people back to God by sharing his good news. Our focus will be to

• Share this good news that we have received with others (Rom 10:11-15; Rom 1:16; Acts 1:8; Eph 6:19)

• Be Sent out (Acts 13:2-3)

• Make Disciples not converts (Matt 28:17-20)

• Have a respectful answer as to why we follow Jesus (1 Pet 3:15)
